Take the ordinary into greater extraordinary heights with the new EOS 650D.
Indeed, everyday scenes easily become pictures of inspiration with its easy-to-use and first-in-its class feature. Like the Vari-angle Touch Screen 3.0-Inch Clear View LCD monitor II. The 18-megapixel CMOS sensor. ISO12800 that’s expandable up to ISO25600. The DIGIC 5 imaging processor and more. Enjoy all these inside a feature-laden camera that delivers no less than extraordinary imagery.
Quick focusing and adjustment for contrast and continuously moving subject get easy.
Shooting in Live View mode can be tricky. Not anymore! Even while the lighting condition and your subject’s location are changing, the Hybrid CMOS AF system contains pixels used for phase detection and assists in predicting subject location. Fast focusing is made possible with Continuous AF since the camera continuously focuses on the subject until the camera captures the image. Also, the newly improved movie compatible EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens optimize movie recording with its silent and precise focusing.
Get those one-of-a-kind inspired shots with a simple touch.
Quicker and more advanced AF methods make photo shooting fast and comfortable. Using AF methods like the Face Detection + Tracking AF during Live View AF, you can now let the camera focus on the subject no matter where it moves. Through the touch shutter function, the camera automatically releases the shutter once your subject is in focus.
The ability to track your moving subject offers a whole new playing field of possibilities.
When setting the Movie Servo AF function under the Face Detection + Tracking AF in Live View, the EOS 650D locks its focus onto your moving subject’s face. Thus, your subject stays focused no matter where it goes or how it moves. Better still, this function automatically tracks your subject even while distance to your subject is changing. Likewise in FlexiZone-Multi and FlexiZone-Single that keep the selected area or point in focus. Now, shooting professional-looking movies has become even easier.
Up to 5.0 fps – that’s a class-leading, high-speed continuous shooting possibility.
Never miss the action – from fast-moving cars to sports scenes, from start to finish. You can shoot approximately 5.0 fps and a maximum burst of up to 30 shots* even at the highest image size setting. High-speed continuous shooting capability has likewise made new modes and functions possible such as the Handheld Night Scene, HDR Backlight Control modes, and the Multi Shot Noise Reduction function. *With UHS-I (Ultra High Speed) SD memory card
The finest images, achieved by employing all cross-type Auto Focus (AF) points – a first in its class.
An improved AF performance allows any AF point to be used for focusing precisely. All nine AF points are cross-types at f/5.6. Regardless of composition or pattern in subject, expect excellent performance especially as the centre AF point is cross-type sensitive to diagonal lines at f/2.8, and likewise works as a cross-type point at f/5.6 (dual cross-type). This means faster and more precise focusing in any photographic situation, including any dimly-lit environment.
With touch operation comes easy “set”, “shoot”, and “view” convenience for all.
Featuring a Vari-angle Touch Screen 3.0-Inch Clear View LCD monitor II, multi-touch operations such as selecting AF points and shooting in Live View modes have become a reality. Pinch your fingers or expand them on the screen to zoom in/out of pictures, or swipe it to view pictures, Choose from standard/sensitive/off options. Rotate the screen according to your preferred view. Flexibility, ease of use, and superior visibility – all these have become standard.
With DIGIC 5 and 18 megapixels, capture clear, natural-looking, high-quality images with less noise.
The rich details of a leaf. The spectrum of colors running along a thin strand of hair. Enjoy all these. The EOS 650D’s DIGIC 5 image processor and low-noise, high-resolution CMOS sensor come together to create a synergy that delivers high-quality images with a wide dynamic range, rich tonal gradation and natural color reproduction.
Beautiful imagery from dimly lit to fast-moving subjects is possible with powerful sensitivity.
From ISO 100 to ISO 12800 (expandable up to ISO 25600), you can take pictures from a wide range of lighting conditions with and advanced and enhanced sensitivity. Even if you set the EOS 650D in ISO Auto, a wide sensitivity range of ISO 100-6400 can still be realized. Better yet, the same setting can be achieved when you are shooting in movie mode.
More is better with Enhanced Basic Zone featuring Handheld Night Scene and HDR Backlight Control modes.
Take beautiful, vivid night shots with less camera-shake blur and even without a tripod. The Handheld Night Scene mode takes four images in rapid succession using a fast shutter speed and superimposes them for the final photo. You can also use a flash in this mode to keep the foreground or background brightly-lit. Taking three images in varying exposures, this technique is similarly employed for the HDR Backlight Control mode, where you can enjoy pictures with less blown highlights and blacked shadows in backlit situations.
With Multi Shot Noise Reduction Function, enjoy reduced noise and rich details even at high ISO.
This is made possible as four images are shot in rapid succession then superimposed to effectively reduce noise. Delivering more effective noise reduction than conventional models, you can now have high quality images with minimal loss of subject definition. Using the High ISO speed noise reduction, sers can perform handheld shooting in low light conditions with reduced blur.
Improved EOS Scene Detection Technology means enhanced creative expression.
You can get all dramatic, in the good sense. With the EOS Scene Detection technology, exposure settings (shutter speed, aperture and ISO) are automatically adjusted whether or not a tripod is used. Icons displayed on Live View let you check camera settings at a glance, capture striking photos from different light sources and ambient light. A candle-lit dinner or a long shot of the evening cityscape would definitely look awesome.
Expand your creativity with two new creative filters.
Want to make your photos look like an oil painting? Try the Art bold effect. It also makes your subject look three-dimensional. If you want something simpler, you can go for the Water painting effect which makes your photo look like a watercolor painting with its subdued and soft colors. Enjoy these, in addition to the existing Miniature, Grainy B/W, Soft focus, Fish-eye, and Toy camera creative filters.
